The Jefferson-Lewis Teacher Center offers “mini” grants and “conference” grants for any active K-12 educator in the Jefferson-Lewis consortium. All grants are intended to promote staff development and thus improve teaching and learning in the classroom. All applicants must complete an official mini grant application.

The purpose of the JLTC Mini Grant is to provide support for educators in the consortium who have innovative approaches to instruction or providing services to students. These grants are to provide support for curriculum related ideas, activities, or projects that focus on NYS Learning Standards, including activities that involve technology.
A mini grant may also be used to conduct action research. An action research grant would support the study of real and relevant classroom concerns involving assessment data collection and interpretation of results. The grant should address a particular issue and demonstrate collaboration between a classroom teacher and an experienced researcher or administrator.
The application deadline is April 11, 2008, for the 2008-2009 school year.
JLTC awards conference grants to support teachers’ efforts to further their own professional development through attendance at a conference. Any educator in the JLTC consortium may apply for a grant, up to the amount of $300, to attend a conference in the time period from July 1, 2008 to May 31, 2009. Conference grants will be reviewed and awarded by the JLTC Grant Committee.
